08th MS Team

I've been re-watching it lately. So good.

Related: THIS is dumb, but I'm ordering one anyway.

Never Gets Old

Our collective fascination with RWB continues, and Knoop recently visited the shop and posted up a great set about it on his Flickr HERE. I love the look of the shop, organized clutter. Selected shots below.

Tomica at TAS

I collect Tomica, and so I enjoyed running across these shots in Aohai's Photozou.

As you can probably tell from what he chose to shoot, Aohai is an AE86 owner. The pricing in these shots is only a little cheaper than what I usually pay, so that makes me feel pretty good.

If anyone cares, Tomica is returning to the United States.

At the moment you only get the cars when you buy playsets, which I have no interest in, but when they start selling individually boxed cars, I'll start buying.

Tokyo Special

Tokyo Special is an annual auto show, smaller than TAS but not otherwise dissimilar. These shots are from back in 2009, but I still thought this Mercedes was worth seeing.

Shots from Udarin's Photozou.

Random Porsche content from the parking lot.

New Additions

Bow's Gallery on the Japanese Honda website has a couple new images up.

I've been a big fan of this guy's work for years. See another post about it here.

Odaiba Swap Meet 2010 - Part 3

This is my final post covering the Odaiba Swap Meet, and as before, all photos are courtesy of Remix.

I love this G-Works sticker! I will paypal anyone who can get me one.

Public Service Announcement

US MX73 Owners: This is how it's done. Please stop putting 17's on your cars.

This car makes me regret selling mine, so for everyone who "told me so", you were right.

Excellent photos courtesy of Masaru Tanaka.

I don't hate this.

2012 Civic, unveiled yesterday.

I was hoping for a *little* more dramatic redesign, but the more I look at this, the more I like it.

Now we just need a real 4-door Civic Type R in the United States. We missed the last one because we lacked potent enough gasoline, etc. I don't even care about the powerplant, leave it the same as the Si, I just want a factory lightweight with upgraded brakes and cooling. I am a ricer, I want RED SEATS.

I also want Champ White instead of this awful pearl white, but generally, I can't argue with the shape of the thing. They just took the last one and better-ized it.

Distressingly, the Civic will no longer be sold in Japan.

That can't be good for aftermarket support.

I want one of these "Nalgas" stickers.

Odaiba Swap Meet 2010

I see meets like this in Japan frequently, wherein the primary attraction is less the gathering and more the fact that everyone brings the contents of their garages to sell and trade.

Why doesn't this happen in the US? I think the UMD meet this year would be a lot more entertaining if people had blankets covered in parts laid in front of their cars like you see at meets in Japan. Parts, diecast and plastic model cars, stickers, magazines, etc.

I have a few days worth of this coming, all courtesy of Remix's Photozou.

While not this impressive, I could still bring a pretty sizable pile of stuff to a swap meet, we just need to have one.

Is there something wrong with me because I looked at this photo and the FIRST thing that came to my mind was "Is that a Lotus Europa?" (far right).

Still Alive

Our son was born toward the end of December, and so I've been a little too busy to post much on here. It's been excellent, and it was a real struggle to return to normal work/school/life.

It was 50 degrees in DC this past weekend, and so I fired up the Ruckus for the first time in about two months and went riding, which was nice. I miss summer weather and long rides though. Minkus of StandardFunctions fame is always posting incredible shots in the TotalRuckus pic thread, so at least I can ride vicariously.
