Office Tomitaku

Enough on their site to keep one busy for awhile. Mag features in full size are particularly cool.

Perfection for Sale

John of Tutti Frutti fame is selling his excellent LS2-swapped Supermade-swathed S14. If you're local and in the market you should jump on it, as we don't get cars like this up for sale on the East Coast very often.

Go see the sale thread on MA240SX.

Thanks to Nathan Ong (owner of the white S14) for the photography.

Problems and Solutions

Finally got my front suspension done. It looks like there's a slight reverse rake, but I measured it and it's dead even front and rear. The rear just tucks so much more that it creates the illusion, I suppose.

I test-fitted a Mk1 today on the front and I'm definitely going to need extended studs. I'm getting excited about the car again though, I hadn't been for awhile.

Anyone have a grey interior they want to sell me?

New Old Thing

Two weeks ago I finally got something that I've been wanting for a very long time. I am now the proud owner of a C100 Honda Super Cub, I think it is a 1960.

It ran great when I bought it, and then I got it home and now it won't start. I think I probably have a bad ground somewhere, but I've been too busy with the MX73 to play with it. Did I mention that the Ruckus left me stranded also? I can't win lately.

At any rate, the bike is in very good mechanical shape and is cosmetically original. I'm going to fix my ground problem and ride it as-is for awhile. It's about 5mph faster than the Ruckus, clutchless 3-speed. Odometer says it has 23 milest, and it looks like the original odometer to me, but I'm not sure I'm willing to bet anything on it.

Nisei Week Showoff - Masaru Tanaka

While I'm obviously not the first person to put up Nisei shots, I'm probably the first person to post these.

Shot by Masaru Tanaka, who had also shot the Daihatsu Charmant and USDM content of many posts ago.

I'm not generally much for houndstooth engine bays, gold valve covers, and the like, but it's nice to look at.

This S2000 is beyond absurd with all that poke, but I like the atypical color.

Missed Connections

We had originally planned a Ruckus ride/meet on Saturday ending at a friend's Tutti Frutti frozen yogurt store in Columbia MD, but delays and weak attendance kept that from happening.

Nonetheless, the Columbia crew came down to Rockville and we grabbed bitchin beef tendon soup at A&J's Chinese Restaurant. Fun was had by all.

This is John's recently acquired GY6-swapped bike w/round tire ATV fatty.

I really liked this one also, incredibly clean, 52mph downhill (50cc GET). Makes me want to clean up my mess of a bike.

Note how my exhaust has come unclamped and is just hanging there. I scrape the pipe on right hand turns because the shock is so low, which I think is why it broke loose.

This was parked next to us when we came outside after lunch.

Here's a look at an upcoming post I'm putting together for Canibeat. This is the second Hawaiian shoot I've been involved in and there will definitely be more. Many thanks to Ethan, our photographer, for giving us such great product.

I'll have the full post up in a few days.

Changes Changes

I profiled Greed12's Legacy back in March here.

Since then, his car has gone through some changes, most notably the wheels, which are now Rays Progressive Spoke in 19x8 +45.

Check out the rest of Subarudo here

Thanks for the submission!

Standing Out

I'm sure a few of you will have already seen this, but it's an amazing video.

Shinya Kimura crafts some astonishing bikes, and this clip will speak to anyone who's spent time on two wheels. If for any reason it doesn't default to HD, be sure to change it. The video and sound quality is excellent.

Really really random

I've been on an aviation kick of late, and I must say that these gentlemen have genuine stones to be flying craft like this.

I didn't even know people still flew this sort of thing, either original or replica, although if I'd thought about it I guess it isn't so far out there.

This certainly looks like more fun than I've ever had in a car, to say the least. I imagine it's also an order of magnitude more dangerous, but such is life.

People will still be lusting after FD's in fifty years. Did I mention that I love huge silly rear diffusers?

It occurred to me that I've never seen normal rivet-on flares on an FD, always these blended widebody kits.

Nostalgic Heroes - 3

More of this. I wish it wasn't so grainy, but at least it's 1024x.

I acquired a new project that's going to take some attention away from the MX73 though, details to follow later this week.

I really want to get my angled headlights sorted out. Also, this image below made me realize how seldom I see a Hako with door mirrors.

Nostalgic Heroes - 2

More from the same gallery. Really been on about Hayashis lately.
