I can get started on this car. I didn't want to do my 5-lug until these came in.

Not that I NEED one, but I'll be picking up a compressor and air tools this weekend to make all this a little more painless.

I'm a weenie, so I ordered the 6k springs, but they won't ship until May.

Crown Royal

I have come to really like cars of this style, only I have no idea what it's called.

Crowns and other full-size 60s/70's Japanese sedans/wagons/trucks, fairly stock restorations on what looks like Torq Thrusts/Astro Supremes, etc. Tire lettering, mooneyes steering wheels, et cetera. Does this "style" have a name?

These images are from the 19th Annual Yokohama Hot Road Custom Show.

This Corona pickup is my favorite, I didn't even know these existed. I could carry my Super Cub in the back.

Three Dee

Picked this up last night, midnight launch.

Wish I could have gone to NY to the Nintendo Store, but too much to do.

System itself is highly recommended, but I feel like my eyes are going to melt. Pilotwings is proof of concept for the 3D, although I wish the game was longer.

Crystal Clear. Sort of.

Got these from Ressa awhile back.

Looks positively dreadful with everything else OEM, but other clear Dmax goods are enroute.

Hoping to get a lot done on this car in the next 6 weeks or so, as almost all of the parts have arrived.

These were the most unloved cars for the longest time, but it seems like they've become more popular in the last couple years.

Made in Chennai

Can you tell I'm on about these right now?

For anyone who isn't familar, Royal Enfield was a British motorcycle firm that has been in existence since the late 19th century. In the 1950's, due to large orders from the Indian government, they began building some of the bikes in India under a subsidiary. The bikes themselves have not changed much since this time, and the riding community is something of a cult. These are still largely hand-assembled in cottage industry fashion.

Anyway, I was motivated to make this post because they just released a cool promotional video. I was in Chennai for a short while in 2001 but I didn't get the chance to visit the factory. Seeing this makes me regret that even more. Watch in HD.

Hisashi Saito Gallery

Yet another interesting part of Honda's JP website. They have several galleries like this, but unfortunately some of them only have very small format pictures.

I need something like this to go back and forth to the train station in. I bet the Ruckus/Cub would fit in the bed.

Owner also has an S13 that was blasted by Zilvia's hate cannon.

I'm a Sucker

It's everything I didn't want it to be, which is to say that it's everything it's been since ~1996. I bought it anyway, knowing this, and I have to say that I'm a couple hours into it and it's a lot of fun. It's warmly familiar, albeit idiotic, to buy a game where you do the same things in precisely the same order every four years or so, but with newer visuals.

This game got fairly good reviews stateside, but Famitsu gave it a perfect score. This seems typical of the difference of opinion between American and Japanese reviewers, whereby we in the US will knock something for perhaps not being fresh or new enough, in Japan they'll evaluate it solely on the basis of being fun or not. I'm somewhere in between.

Anyway, if you bought it, comment and post your friend code.

Functional Tires

They don't *have* to look bad. See?
