March On

This isn't my usual cup of tea, but I think that's why I like it. It has a VW-centric style about it, but I've certainly never seen a Nissan March slammed on BBS RS before.

I have no idea what suspension this is riding on, but it certainly looks correct. I have more shots, but they're all tiny.

Check out Shota's Minkara HERE

This was a slow week for me, didn't get much posted. Hopefully I can pick up the pace the next couple weeks.

EDIT: I posted this on Canibeat immediately after, so I replaced this shot with the CiB watermarked one.

DR30 Revival

I ran across this on Carview ages ago, but I thought it was neat. I've seen R35's with Prince badges, but this guy went to the lengths of painting his R34 to look like a DR30 RS Turbo.

Pictures are sub-par, but you get the idea.

Four Door Mayhem

These images of the 2009 Nikko Circuit Sun Festival were kindly submitted by Ai from Spirant.

I particularly like the C33 with the huge overfenders and wing of doom. I could do without the wonky flames though.

Best Unboxing Ever

I've never seen an unboxing video for a vintage device before, let alone with such high production values. I used to own a PC Engine GT, which is the Japanese version of the Turbo Express, and it is indeed a choice bit of hardware.

This video seems a bit much with the music and all, and "Memento" is misspelled (allegedly intentional), but the cinematography is really good. Even if you really don't care about old NEC portables, let it load and just skip around a bit to see the eye candy.

TRA/6666 Customs S13

Everyone's seen this aero on the shop car, but I've been following this other build on Carview.

If anyone knows a photographer in Japan, shoot me an email so I can try to put together a shoot. Car is still in progress, and it's going to be nasty when it's done.

Wheel fitment could go a lot farther though.

I wish these pics were larger (and the same size), but cie la vie.

Sakura

It's that time again in DC. My wife snapped a whole series of these great shots for me.

Happy Friday!

Zokusha at TAS 2010 (4 of 4)

This is the final collection of images, courtesy of Ai from Spirant.

The beer can exhaust had already been documented by SpeedHunters, I believe. I love the boso bike with the ape hangars and the rising sun tank. I JUST finished my Ruckus, but I already want to totally redo it in this style. Next year maybe.

Not your average

It seems that modern Toyota products, aside from apparently being a great way to die, are increasingly popular cars to slam. Everyone's seen the few Matrixes and late-model Corollas that have been done and I like all of them.

I had NOT ever seen a current-generation Camry done up with any success though, but there's a first time for everything. This car belongs to the user/moderator "Princess Peach" on ToyotaNation

The car is lowered on Megan coilovers and he's run several sets of wheels. It was turbocharged for awhile, making 300whp. I like it because it's unique and I like it because he really spent time on many parts of the car not just "buy coils, buy wheels, post pics, part out" like so many others.

LegacyLow

Another entry from Subarudo

The wheels (DeCorsa Fusion) are definitely polarizing, but the stance is right.

I believe this is a factory color, even in the US.

Thanks for the submission!

Zokusha at TAS 2010 (3 of 4)

Another dose of low-offset takeyari-equipped grachan/shakotan/yankee badassery courtesy of Ai from Spirant.

This go-round, I'm a particular fan of the Sunny Truck and all the sharknoses. I'm looking at an MX73 right now, and if I can close on it a sharknose is definitely in my future plans.

Nissan ElGrand Trackday

Not every tuned van is on airbags with eight degrees of negative camber. These ElGrands (one of which I featured before) have big brakes, stiffened suspension, and tires with real contact patches.

I'm not sure why you'd build an ElGrand for the circuit, but it sure looks fun. If you look closely, you can spy the same van from my other post turning laps.
